That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ｢転生したらスライムだった件, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, Regarding Reincarnated to Slime｣, abbreviated as TenSura ｢転スラ, Ten Sura｣, is a light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It originally started as a web novel hosted on Shōsetsuka ni Narō between 2013-2016. The series was acquired by Micro Magazine, who published the first light novel volume in 2014. The series would later receive several manga adaptations and an anime television series adaptation by 8-Bit.

Plot

Lonely thirty-seven-year-old Satoru Mikami is stuck in a dead-end job, unhappy with his mundane life, but after dying at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a fantasy realm...as a slime monster! As he acclimates to his goopy new existence, his exploits with the other monsters set off a chain of events that will change his new world forever!

Web Novel

Fuse originally began the series as a web novel hosted on Shōsetsuka ni Narō under the same name. It began on February 2013 and ended on January 2016.

Light Novel

The original web novel series was acquired for print publication by Micro Magazine, with illustrations by Mitz Vah. The first volume was released on May 30, 2014, with 14 volumes to date. Yen Press licensed the light novels for English release,^[1] with the first volume released on December 19, 2017.

Manga

A manga adaptation was made by Taiki Kawakami and was published in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius on March 26, 2015. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English release.

A second manga, titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Ways of Strolling in the Demon Country ｢転生したらスライムだった件～魔物の国の歩き方～, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Mamono no Kuni no Arukigata｣, with art by Shō Okagiri, has been serialized on Micro Magazine's Comic Ride website since July 28, 2016.

A spin-off manga titled The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ｢転スラ日記転生したらスライムだった件, Tensura Nikki Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken｣, often shorten to Reincarnated Slime Diary ｢転スラ日記, Tensura Nikki｣ or The Slime Diaries, by Shiba began serializing on Shonen Sirius, with the first volume released on September 28, 2018. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English release.^[2]^[3]

A second spin-off manga titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Corporate Slave ｢転生しても社畜だった件, Tensei Shitara Shachiku Datta Ken｣ illustrated by Shizuku Akechi, has been serialized on the Suiyōbi no Sirius web magazine since September 26, 2018 and it is also been serialized in print in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius in since October 26, 2018.^[4]

A third spin-off manga titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Another Story: Trinity of the Magic Kingdom ｢転生したらスライムだった件異聞～魔国暮らしのトリニティ～, Tensei shitara Slime datta Ken Ibun: Makuni Kurashi no Trinity｣ illustrated by Tae Tono, has been published on the Suiyōbi no Sirius web magazine since March 26, 2019.^[5]

Anime

An anime adaptation was first announced on March 2018.^[6] It was later announced that the series would run for two cours,^[7] and premiered on October 1, 2018.^[8] The series was simulcast by Crunchyroll,^[9] with a simuldub by Funimation that premiered on October 22, 2018.^[10]^[11] The first season ran for 24 episodes and 1 special episode.^[12]^[13] A second season was announced for 2020.^[14]

An OAD was initially slated for release on March 29, 2019; bundled with the eleventh manga volume.^[15] However, this was delayed to December; bundled with the thirteenth manga volume due to "various circumstances."^[16] A second OAD was announced for July 9; bundled with the twelfth manga volume.^[17] Crunchyroll will stream the OAD worldwide outside of Asia.^[18]

Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross of Light and Darkness: Rimuru (in both Slime and human forms), Benimaru and Milim are invocable characters in the Collab event. Ifrit also appears as a special Raid Boss.
