Ryota Sekiguchi ｢関口良太, sekiguchi ryōta｣ is a student at Freedom Academy and a Summoned Otherworlder.
Personality[]
Although Ryota is a timid guy, he is very scary when angered.
Appearance[]
Ryota appears like the average middle-schooler kid, with black eyes and neck-long black hair. He wears the classic uniform of the Freedom Academy.
Background[]
After being summoned by some country, he was rescued by Yuuki Kagurazaka and placed in the care of Shizue Izawa in Freedom Academy's Class S. There he learned that he had only a few years at best left to live. After Shizu left him and the other members of Class S, they drove off any replacement teachers before they were eventually put under the tutelage of Rimuru Tempest. Rimuru challenged all of them to a spar, and come Ryota's turn, he showed off his berserker skill before being quickly taken care of. Eventually, Rimuru took him and the other members of Class S to Republic of Ulgracia so that they could form pacts with greater spirits to calm their rampaging energy. Once at the Dwelling of the Elementals inside the Dungeon of the demon lord Ramiris, Ryota prayed at the alter and Lesser elementals of both water and wind responded. Rimuru then used his Unique skills to synthesize them into a Greater elemental containing both elements, which then stabilized the magicules rampaging inside Ryota's body. When an outdoor training session occurs, Rimuru provides them with a camping car pulled by a Beast Gnome that Gale had tamed. A teacher named Tiss is assigned to watch over Class S. During their session, a band of thieves ambushed them, but the students managed to defeat them with ease. They also confront a Phantom Commanding officer who allied with the thieves, but it proved too powerful for them; however, the Black Primordial Noir chose to answer Tiss' impromptu summoning and save them in order to clear his old debt to Shizu. After learning that Rimuru is leaving, he and his classmates are saddened by the news, but they promise to visit now and then. From this point on, Tiss serves as their teacher in Rimuru's place.

- The name Ryota means "good, virtuous, respectable" (良) (ryo) and "thick, big" (太) (ta).
- Ryota's surname Sekiguchi means "barrier, gate" (関) (seki) and "mouth, entrance" (口) (kuchi/guchi).
