Roy Valentin ｢ロイ・ヴァレンタイン, roi varentain｣ was the body double of Demon Lord Luminous Valentine. His elder twin brother Louis Valentin plays the role of the Pope of Lubelius. He was killed by Laplace on his way back from Walpurgis to defend the inner sanctum of Holy Empire of Lubelius.
Appearance[]
Roy Valentin appears to be a tall man with blond hair with regal clothing befitting a Demon Lord. When he was in the inner sanctum of Lubelius, he would wear a white clergy robe similar to Louis', so that people would not know he's actually the Demon Lord.
Personality[]
Roy is a prideful individual who sees many others as below him. Despite this, he's actually very loyal towards his master, Luminous.
Background[]
Originally there was a powerful Vampire known as "Valentin," who was known for being highly bloodthirsty and battle crazed. As revealed, "Valentin", was one of the many creations of Twilight Valentine, the creator and progenitor of the many races in the Central World. Valentin himself was a byproduct of Twilight’s research and experimentation after successfully populating the worlds and dimensions with intelligent life in accordance to their creator's wishes. Valentin was noted to be one of their most troublesome creations, frequently breaking out and causing problems and needing to be dealt with by the Mediator.
Even after being subjugated and taken in as a subordinate by Luminous, he continued to antagonize her other subordinates. This caused Luminous to then use her powers to divide this vampire into two separate beings, creating two separate entities to act as her body doubles. In this way, she could stay hidden out of sight of both the other Demon Lords and her human empires. "Roy" was assigned to act as her stand-in as a member of the Ten Great Demon Lords, while his twin brother "Louis" was to act as her stand-in as the Holy Emperor of Lubelius. Both of them have continued to loyally serve Luminous for a very long time since then, even before Lubelius came into existence.
The twins have served as some of Luminous’s oldest subordinates, having been working for her when she founded her first country, Night Rose.
After the founding of Lubelius, he acted as the Demon Lord to terrorize people into joining the religion of Luminism, while his brother acted as the pope to lead the religion.
Sometime while pretending to be the "Demon Lord Valentin" hundreds of years ago (prior to the formation of the "Ten Great Demon Lords" and the council only consisted of merely seven members), Roy had apparently gotten into an argument and battled against "Curse Lord" Kazalim and had fought him to a standstill. Despite no clear winner being made from their battle, their fight had caused massive collateral damage and a large number of civilian casualties. It's been stated that due to the result of this battle being triggered by a disagreement between two Demon Lords, a "tradition" of the Council agreeing to the vote or motion supported by four members was set in place in order to avoid another incident like this. These rules were seemingly established when the group itself originally consisted of seven members.
Trivia[]
- Both Roy's and Louis' first names, as well as their surname, are pronounced in French.
- During his battle against Laplace, the backstory and true identity of Roy and Louis being once a single being divided into two is revealed. And upon Roy's death, he was then re-absorbed into Louis. As such Roy can still technically be "alive" through Louis.
