Ranga
Ranga ｢嵐牙, Ranga, lit. "Storm/Tempest Fang"｣ is one of the first group of subordinates named by Rimuru Tempest. He is an extremely loving and loyal subordinate of Rimuru, who almost always resides in his master's shadow and absorbing his energy until called for or when otherwise necessary. He is the leader of the Tempest Wolf Clan and the son of the previous boss of the Direwolves.
Appearance
Direwolf
Ranga was the only Direwolf among his clan to have an appearance different from the others. Ranga had regions of bluish-silver fur appearing around his neck, his snout, and the ends of his limbs and tail, unlike the purely dark-periwinkle coat of the other direwolves. Ranga also has an iconic star mark on his forehead formed by a darker color of fur.
In the Web Novel, he is described as having olive-brown fur and looking exactly like his father but with a stronger build.
Tempest Wolf
When Ranga evolved into a Tempest Wolf he grew to a length of 5m along with growing a horn that protrudes out below the center of the star on his forehead.
Ranga also gained the ability to control his size. He can shrink his size similar to that of a normal Direwolf. He can also shrink to the size of a regular dog.
Star Wolf
While siphoning off Rimuru's Magicules within Rimuru's shadow, Ranga reached the evolutionary stage of Star Wolf without anyone noticing.
Tempest Star Wolf
When he evolved into Tempest Star Wolf, his muscles bulged, his claws hardened, his fangs sharpened, and one extra horn appeared atop his head.
When using Shuttle Fly, his jet-black fur, that covered his majestic body, is clad in golden lightning pulsing through them. Demonic energy seeps out like an electrical discharge. A large golden horn grows from his forehead, on the left and right are the unchanged jet-black horns from his earlier form. The golden horn in the center releases rays of crystallized, pure energy, continuously.
Personality
Ranga is a very proud and loyal monster. Towards Rimuru he retains many of the traits of a dog such as loyalty, wagging his tail when he is happy, licking Rimuru, being protective, and always wanting to please his master Rimuru.
He is willing to give everything including his own life for Rimuru's happiness and will do everything within his power to make that happen.
Towards outsiders, he comes across as a scary, ferocious beast. He is very blunt with outsiders and does not show any form of politeness. He tends to appear annoyed and suspicious of outsiders.
Background
He was the son of the Fanged Wolf Boss. After Ranga's father lost to and was absorbed by Rimuru, he and his pack became Rimuru's followers after the battle, holding no grudge against him.

Relationships
Rimuru Tempest
Even though Rimuru killed his father, Ranga bears no malice. After all, Rimuru forgave them and also gave them a name. The moment Rimuru regained consciousness after giving him a name, Ranga began following him wherever he went, serving as his mount, and a pillow for whenever Rimuru decides to sleep. He can almost always be found sleeping or waiting in Rimuru's shadow ready to come out whenever needed. He has a very strong desire to be of use to Rimuru even if it is to give Rimuru a simple ride on his back. Because Ranga resides in Rimuru's shadow so much, he has absorbed an insane amount of his master's aura as well as his Magicules. This led him to quickly evolve into a Star Wolf and then again into a Tempest Star Wolf.
Gobta
Ranga was one of the first to see Gobta's potential. He suggested he battle against the lizardman and was enthusiastic about joining him in his battle in the tournament.
Benimaru
Ranga and Benimaru seem to get along with each other and are good friends.
Shion
Like Shion, the two tend to overdo things. He has a healthy respect for Shion and often agrees with her aggressiveness in dealing with Rimuru's detractors and enemies as was witnessed in their team up in their battle against Charybdis.

- Ranga is voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi who happens to voice the protagonist of Beastars who is also a wolf.
