Pulcinella ｢プルチネルラ, puruchinerura｣ was a human from another world who was possessed by a phantom and took its power as his own. He was the main antagonistic force in Distant Memories, where he was ultimately killed by Velgrynd.
Appearance[]
Pulcinella had the appearance of a large and muscular middle-aged man. He had dark skin, slicked-back blonde hair, and piercing eyes. His usual attire consisted of large white robes adorned with a long necklace. After fully assimilating the power of the Phantom, he gained its two sets of angelic white wings, his skin became blue and his eyes became red.
Personality[]
Pulcinella, despite being a holy man renowned across the world as a saint, was a truly wicked person at heart. He was an extremely cunning and ruthless man who had no concept of honorable combat and desired power above all else. When he was taken over by a Staff officer-class phantom, his domineering spirit easily consumed the ego of his possessor and allowed him free rein over the Phantom's power. His newly obtained god-like capabilities made him go drunk with power, with him proceeding to use the rest of the invading phantoms who still believed him to be their superior in order to take over the world and rule it for himself. Ultimately, his arrogance was his undoing, he focused all of his efforts into making the power of the phantom his own, completely neglecting its memories and causing him to believe he could provoke and kill Velgrynd.
Background[]
Pulcinella was originally a monk in the Great Roziam Dynasty. Across his life, he gained an immense reputation as a strong person and his priestly actions made many call him a saint. When the phantoms invaded and turned all of the major powers against each other, he was one of the first to sense that something was amiss and set out to search for the masterminds. He eventually found the phantoms but was ganged up on and quickly defeated, his body becoming the vessel for a Staff Officer-class phantom. However, Pulcinella's immense will and drive for dominance was able to overpower and consume the fragile ego of the nameless phantom, taking its power for himself. He used the phantom's position as a top-ranked officer and quietly manipulated the rest of them behind the scenes, deciding to not declare allegiance to Cornu and wanting to rule the world himself. With his great strength and the brilliant mind of Masahiko Amari assisting him, Pulcinella's plans were almost assured to succeed… until Velgrynd appeared in the world.
