Phantasms ｢妖人族, ayakashibito, lit. "Spectral People"｣ are a species of fox-like majin born from the union of humans and the cryptids created by Quo.[1]
Appearance[]
Phantasms resemble humans for the most part, but notably possess the ears and tail of a fox, making them visually similar to foxman beastfolk despite being unrelated to them. They've inherited some of the characteristics of a Ninehead, but all known Phantasms possess only a single tail and apparently lack the ability to create tailed beasts.
Background[]
When the nation that the Ninehead Quo called home was invaded by the Eastern Empire, she led the resistance force against them and lost. Not wanting to abandon the people beloved by her late master, she took all of them in and led them to a secluded location that contained a gate to another world. There they established the Spectre Village and lived in peace for over 300 years.
When these humans intermingled with the cryptids that split from Quo, the result was the Phantasms, a species of fox-like majin with mystic powers.
