Everyone thinks the only way to win wars is through killing, disregarding the utilization of their "stomachs." If everyone could fill their bellies and become free from hunger, then conquest becomes a meaningless endeavor. Making everyone happy by filling their bellies is the mission entrusted to me by Lord Rimuru!
Peko ｢ペコ, peko｣ is the main character of the Gourmet Story spin-off manga. He's a Hobgoblin that works alongside Gob'ichi in the kitchen. After awakening his Unique skill Glutton, Rimuru takes a special interest in him and they set off to create a cook book the likes of which the world hasn't ever seen.
Appearance[]
Peko is on the shorter side as far as Hobgoblins are concerned, only standing at around 150cm as opposed to the average hobgoblins' 180. His braided hair, petite frame, and adorable facial features make Peko rather androgynous in appearance.
Peko's usual attire is a formal catering outfit consisting of a buttoned shirt, bowtie, and pants, with an apron usually being worn over top.
Personality[]
Peko is a hard working and earnest individual, always giving their 100% in the kitchen and trying to make their food as delicious as possible. He's extremely soft-hearted and kind, to the point of despising violence entirely.
Background[]
Peko was among the hundred or so original goblins gathered under Rigurd is his days as the goblin elder. Peko's parents had already passed on and Peko wasn't too far behind them, being heavily injured in the direwolf attack. Just when all hope seemed lost, Rigur returned to the village with a mysterious and powerful monster named Rimuru. Rimuru used powerful potions that were capable of healing Peko's fatal injuries and giving him a second chance at life. Afterward, Peko received their name and purpose from Rimuru, to fill peoples tummies with food so delicious that they can't even think about fighting.
Peko would go on to have a brief stint as a Goblin Rider, even participating in the battle against the Orc Lord Geld and his forces. However, after the battle, upon realizing that the entire conflict could've been avoided if everyone had enough food to eat, Peko swears off fighting entirely, becoming a pacifist. From that day forward, Peko focused all their efforts into cooking meals in the kitchen alongside Gob'ichi and Shuna, eventually earning the Unique skill Glutton through his hard effort, making him acknowledged as someone amazing even in the eyes of Rimuru.

- Peko's name is a play on the Japanese word pekopeko ｢ペコペコ｣, a childish word to express immense hunger "to the point one's stomach collapsing inwards."
