The Orc Kingdom of Orbic豚頭族(オーク)の王国オービック, ōku no ōkoku ōbikku was a country that acted as the homeland of the orc species. It was located north of both Eurazania and Fulbrosia, south of the Great Jura Forest, and west of Milim's dominion. The land eventually became too barren to live in due to being laid to waste by aggressors and was abandoned, resulting in the Orc War.

Government[]

Orbic, despite having a royal family and a king, did not utilize a feudal system of government but rather a tribal one closer in essence to a federation. In addition to the royal capital ruled by the king, there existed the ten great tribes each governed over by their own chieftain.[1]

Economy[]

Just like most of the nations in the Demon Lord ruled lands, Orbic lacked any sort of currency culture and generally didn't trade with coins, instead exchanging goods and services. The kingdom specialized in performing hard labor such as mining, logging, and farming, often outsourcing this Labor to the nearby countries of Eurazania, Fulbrosia, and Jistav. They served as vital members of the Demon Lords' work forces and offered them a large portion of their own bounty as taxes in exchange for protection from monsters.

The beer produced from their cultivated grains is noted to have been rather exceptional in quality and it could've become a staple of their exports had the lands not been turned barren by rampaging aggressors.[2]

Military Strength[]

Though best known for their massive 200,000 strong army displayed in the Orc War, Orbic originally didn't have a large military force. Most of its healthy adults were laborers, with only a small portion of them being trained as knights and equipped with spears. They largely relied on the three demon lords in their vicinity to deal with any serious threats, a benefit they paid a hefty sum of labor and goods for every year.

Royal Family[]

The Orbic Royal Family were a group that led the 10 great tribes and acted as a representative of the entire Orc species. Its members are noted to have all been High orcs from birth,[3] with their naturally superior intelligence likely contributing greatly to their status.

The other factor that established their rule was the fact that it was only from their bloodline that an Orc Lord could be born, something that only happened once every couple of centuries. It would seem that an Orc Lord was born only when a member of the royal family broke taboo and ate the flesh and blood of another member of the royal family.[4]

Famine[]

Due to the appearance of a space-time crack between Orbic and the Otherworld, the orc nation was assaulted by insects and their land was ravaged by the energy that leaked from the dimensional rift. The damage caused by their assault was evidently too severe for their land to recover from any time soon, with it slowly beginning to deteriorate more and more over the course of 60 years to the point of being inhospitable.[5] It was the intense famine and drought brought about by these circumstances that drove the orc king Geld to desperation and led to the Orc War.
