The ogre chieftain — known simply as the Chief ｢里長, nichō, Yen Press: "Leader"｣ — was the nameless leader of the ogre village and the father to Benimaru and Shuna. He perished during the orcs' raid on the village during the Orc War.
Appearance[]
The chief was as large and muscular as any ogre, with two long white horns that represented his pride as a member of the ogre race. He had long red hair tied into a ponytail,[1] as well as a scarlet red beard and moustache[2] that gave him a dignified air. He typically wore a suit of red Japanese-style armor underneath a large fur cloak. In The Slime Diaries, Hakurou mentioned that when he was Benimaru's age, they looked almost exactly alike.
Background[]
The chief was born and raised among the ogre village, trained from childhood by the old man and reared into the position of chieftain. At some point he had two children, the elder a son that would be his heir and the younger a daughter to act as the shrine maiden for the village.
During the invasion of the orcs, the chief valiantly sacrificed his own life in battle against the Orc Lord Geld and the mysterious masked majin Footman, allowing his children and some others to escape the slaughter.
