Nikalaus after killing Gran, In A Blessing to the DeadNikolaus Spertus ｢ニコラウス・シュペルタス, nikorausu shuperutasu｣ is a cardinal of the Western Holy Church and its second-highest ranked member after the Holy Emperor Louis.
Appearance[]
A middle-aged man with well kept light brown hair, blue eyes, and a neat face, dressed in cardinal robes.
Personality[]
Nikolas Spertus is an utterly cold and calculating man who is described as a 'Devil with a Saint's mask'. He has absolutely no care nor regard for anyone around him, not even the god Luminous that he claims to worship. He is a true heretic in the midst of the Church, despite being second in power only to the Emperor himself. The one and only person that he cares about and truly worships fanatically is Hinata Sakaguchi, whom he carefully makes breakfast for and even kills Gran for with no hesitation nor regret.
Background[]
Nikolaus supported Archbishop Reyhiem with the attack by Falmuth against Tempest and supported Tempest being considered an "Enemy of God" during their conference with the Seven Luminaries to discuss what to do. However, his views on the matter were rejected. When the Seven Luminaries revolted, he confronted Gran, the Luminary of Sun, with evidence of them tampering Rimuru's message and orchestrating the conflict. For their attempt at killing Hinata, Nikolaus used the Holy magic of Disintegration to eliminate Gran.
