Nidol Migam ｢ニドル・マイガム, nidoru maigamu｣ is the Earl of Migam, a frontier province of Farmenas that borders the Great Jura Forest. He is the one who created the Frontier Expedition Force, which resulted in Rimuru Tempest meeting Youm.
Appearance[]
Nidol is a rather short and portly man, dressed in the fancy clothes expected from nobles of his status. He has lightly-colored hair brushed backward and a thick moustache.
Personality[]
Nidol Migam is an extremely greedy and stingy man, though he is far from incompetent. It was the complacency of peace that resulted in him only doing the bare minimum to maintain his territories defenses, embezzling the rest of the money and using it for his own purposes. When the threat of monsters from the Jura Forest increased dramatically after Storm Dragon Veldora's disappearance, he did everything in his power to try and do his duty properly, lamenting at his previous foolishness.
Background[]
As the Earl of Migam, it was Nidol's responsibility to manage the frontier territory and protect the country of Falmuth from the monsters that would come from the Great Jura Forest. However, Nidol grew complacent with the relative stability of the position, only spending the bare minimum of the tax funding he was given to maintain the defenses and spending the rest for his own personal enjoyment.
It was when the Storm Dragon Veldora disappeared that this stability would end, the dragon's vanishing throwing the entire world into chaos and upsetting the natural order of the Jura Forest. Monsters would soon be driven out of the forest en-masse, the likes of which they had never seen before and which was only later exasperated by the presence of Tempest, only further throwing the forest's wild monsters into his territory. These concerns only fell on deaf ears when Nidol pleaded with the Minister of Finance, who foolishly believed the threat of monsters to be over with the Evil Dragon's supposed death. The tax funds that Nidol had previously been receiving were stripped away entirely, leaving Nidol desperate to deal with the looming danger that would soon befall the entire nation. It was due to this desperation that Nidol formed the Frontier Expedition Force when rumors spread of an Orc Lord, ultimately resulting in its captain Youm meeting with Rimuru Tempest and changing the fate of Falmuth forever.
