Multilayer Barrier ｢多重結界, tajū kekkai｣ is an Extra skill and one of the Intrinsic skills of Demon slimes.
It's an upgrade from Ranged Barrier that Rimuru acquired when he couldn't create a single barrier with lots of different effects applied to it, but was able to create multiple barriers with one Resistance each.

Multiple Ranged Barriers are linked with various resistances to create a Multilayer Barrier. It's a thin, colorless, invisible coating covering the body. It is a barrier consisting of several layers but still so thin that Mana Perception can only barely spot it.
It doesn't require much Mana to keep going. Once it is summoned, it barely consumes any at all. Even if it gets destroyed, the user can just recreate it instantly.

- In the LN, Multilayer Barrier is described as colorless and invisible, but in the anime, it's sometimes momentarily visible when activated, depicted as purple with some blue, before becoming invisible.
