Jeff Segal ｢ジェフ・シーガル, jefu shīgaru｣ is a nobleman and homeroom teacher of the Freedom Academy's Class A students.

Jeff is an adult man with short blond hair and thin blond mustache. He wears glasses and usually a blue suit.

Story[]
Having sent a letter to Count Guratol, Jeff and other teachers enter the teacher's room. Seeing Rimuru, Jeff mocks him that he again has free time, while Jeff and the others are busy with preparations for the outside training. He acts surprised that Rimuru doesn't know about it and Tiss explains its practical experience for the students and they compete each year. Jeff guesses Class S won't be participating again and that makes Rimuru's job easier. Rimuru guesses its going to be a good training for his students too and wants them to participate, however Jeff explains they don't have proper equipment and is surprised that Rimuru doesn't know the students needs to have own weapons and armor by the time they graduate. Rimuru decides to find them equipment and Jeff happily accepts to show that his Class A is better. He leaves Tiss to explain the event to Rimuru and leaves. Rimuru was able to get Class S equipment nevertheless along with an unusual-looking carriage called the camping car, pulled by a tamed Beast Gnome. Even so, Jeff is still determined to ensure that his class wins. Sometime after the test, Rimuru learns of his true motive: he wants to save his younger sister, who has fallen ill. Rimuru is able to cure Ulamuth, earning Jeff's respect.
Before Rimuru's trip to Coleus, Jeff warns him about the complications that he will face there should the inhabitants find out that he's a monster, and Rimuru decides to use his old name Satoru as a front.
He is among the people taking part in Tempest's festival, where he is amazed by Vesta and Gabiru's potion experiment demonstrations. He is also in the audience watching the marital arts tournament.
