Visions of Coleus, Part 4Gustav 「グスタフ, gusutafu」 is a central antagonist to the Visions of Coleus side story. He, alongside Tedron Coleus, was one of the masterminds behind the swirling plot that took place in the Coleus Kingdom. He is ultimately slain by Violet after being confronted by Luminous Valentine and failing to incarnate her successfully.
Appearance[]
Gustav had the appearance of a gauntly-faced man of average build and stature. He had light grey-purple hair which was elegantly slicked backwards. He wore a graceful western-style outfit with various pieces of jewelry, with an expensive purple-gem laden necklace being the most eye-catching among them.
Personality[]
Gustav, like many Daemons, is extremely twisted and sadistic, enjoying the "taste" of those who have fallen into the depths of hopelessness and despair more than anything. He is an extremely cunning man, capable of manipulating even close siblings into being at each other's throats. He was extremely proud of his abilities as an Archdaemon and held an extreme reverence towards Violet, to the point of viewing her as his God.
Background[]
Gustav, as merely an early modern species Daemon, had no means to get into the good graces of Violet, who he idolized and worshipped as a God. Thus, when he felt the Summoning of Tedron Coleus, he was eager to answer the call and gained a name and body in the process. Inhabiting the now deceased Court Physician, he quickly got to work in manipulating Crown Prince Sauzer while his comrade-in-arms and fellow Archdaemon Karl targeted Second Prince Aslan. The two were quickly at each others throats, with Gustav lending his power to Sauzer to make the previously weak and sickly crown prince more than a match for his heroic younger brother.
With the plans of Tedron successfully implemented, Gustav took to work creating a vessel for his God, preparing Princess Zenobia as an offering towards her. He planted a curse upon her that would tempter her body and soul to become a compatible vessel and in exchange it left her blinded and bedridden. When his plans were eventually foiled by Rimuru Tempest, he became desperate and used a forbidden art to merge with Karl, temporarily increasing his power dramatically.
Gustav, confident in his success, was abruptly stopped by a strange young girl. The young girl dispelled his Dark Magic and quickly overpowered him. Desperate and backed into a corner, Gustav summoned his God inside of the incomplete Princess Zenobia and hoped that she would deal with the mysterious Majin that stood before him, as she saw the truth behind his plans. Violet, on the other hand, was extremely annoyed at being incarnated into Zenobia before she was a proper vessel and leaving a witness to their plan. She proceeded to fight the young girl without a care, but they proved to be equally matched. From the words that were exchanged in the otherworldly battle that took place before him, he was able to deduce the identity of the young girl as Luminous Valentine, misinterpreting the words of his God and thinking that the "trash that had to be disposed of" was Luminous and not himself. Thus, Gustav was exterminated by the very God that he had idolized for messing up their plan and met an uneventful end.
