Gazel Dwargo 「ガゼル・ドワルゴ, gazeru dowarugo」 is the third generation king of the Armed Nation of Dwargon but possesses a similar aura to that of his grandfather in his younger days. He is renowned as a great Hero and celebrated as a wise king for his impartial rule.
Appearance[]
He has a very dwarf-like, tough-looking body, with the height of a human covered in an armor of muscle that hides surging energy beneath. His skin is tanned brown as characteristic of his race, and his jet black hair is slicked back all the way.
Personality[]
Gazel is a free-willed individual with a surprisingly open personality, is stubborn, calculating and possesses a lot of charisma. He follows the philosophy of "peace through strength" to a great extent. He is extremely perceptive and values truth and honor at his core. He takes an interest in Rimuru during his visit, being overly cautious and knowing that Rimuru was ridiculously strong for a mere slime.
Background[]
When he was young, he wandered through the Jura Forest and learned sword techniques from the Sword Oni. Gazel ruled for three hundred years and had many achievements to his name, being even treated as a hero. His strength is at the same level of Hinata Sakaguchi and is comparable to a demon lord.
Trivia[]
- Gazel tends to accept gifts from Rimuru, even a full Santa Claus outfit. He tends to look exasperated at wearing it though; but is proud to wear it.
- Gazel is shown to admit that despite getting along with Rimuru, the things Rimuru has done in the short amount of time he's been in the world has been enough to cause all sorts of headaches in the political world, though defends his junior's actions nonetheless.
- Upon realizing Veldora was back and in human form, Gazel was infuriated at Rimuru not informing him, it's one of the few times Gazel has shown emotion on his face.
- Gazel has a love of alcohol. His new favorite is Apple Brandy and asks Rimuru to make sure he can get a ready supply.
- Upon experiencing a festival in Rimuru City for the first time, it left Gazel wondering why in the world are the Monsters in Great Forest of Jura always so happy.
- In Season One of the Dub, he has an appropriately deep voice that gives him a commanding presence and clout. His second voice gives off a tired, exasperated vibe; appropriate for how he reacts to Rimuru.
