The Composite Division ｢混成軍団, konsei gundan｣ was a unit of the Eastern Empire military commanded by Yuuki Kagurazaka.
Background[]
The Composite Division, initially perceived as a disparate group, comprised individuals singled out for their perceived inability to cooperate in groups. This perception stemmed from the public's misunderstanding, as a closer inspection revealed that each member possessed extraordinary abilities. These unique capabilities, rather than a lack of teamwork, were the root cause of the division's coordination challenges.
The group included numerous otherworlders whose potential remained largely unknown. The division housed individuals who, through experiments conducted within its confines, manifested powers beyond comprehension, transforming into formidable magic beasts with strengths surpassing A rank. Despite the difficulties in managing such powerful entities, these individuals proved to be exceptional warriors. Additionally, the division gathered human weapons with powers derived from unidentified sources, consolidating a diverse array of experimental outcomes under its banner.
Initially managed and controlled, the division underwent a significant transformation with Yuuki assuming leadership. This shift elevated the division into an extraordinarily potent asset within the army, boasting a total of approximately 200,000 members. Half of this number consisted of officers and non-combatants, leaving a force of around 100,000 troops as the actual combat force. This group was stationed in Dwargon during the Eastern Empire's initial invasion of Tempest. Upon learning of Yuuki's intention to initiate a coup d'état, the vast majority of its members faced elimination during a purge orchestrated by Velgrynd. These experimental outcomes resulted in the creation of magic beasts, entities with strengths exceeding the A rank.
Controlling these powerful beings posed challenges, but the division also comprised human weapons whose sources of power remained unidentified. The amalgamation of such diverse abilities and origins created a unique and formidable force. Notably, a hand-picked platoon of approximately 60 elite members, fervently devoted to Yuuki, emerged as the pillars of the Composite Division, further enhancing its combat capabilities.
