Amritaアムリタ, amurita is the capital city of Jistav, originally created as a safe haven for the dark elves 2,000 years ago.

Background[]

When the Ultra-Sorcery Kingdom fell 2,000 years ago the surviving elves that remained loyal to the monarchy swore to rebuild their capital city Soma. This ultimately resulted in a failure due to the interference of the Chaos Dragon, but the elves — now dark elves — moved to the far east and swore to preserve the technological wonders of Soma. This culminated in the construction of Amrita, a fantastical city with magical technology unrivaled even to the modern day.[1]

Clayman Revenge Chapter 24 - Amrita Layout

Amrita is broken up into two different areas, each effectively their own city. These two areas are the castle on the surface as well as the three-layered hidden city underground. The undercity was once home to the dark elves, but mostly remains abandoned in the modern era, with only the first layer being accessible to citizens without special permission.

The surface was previously protected by the combination of an undead army and an intricate spell woven into the land itself by Kazalim. Meanwhile the undercity was protected by various magical defenses and an army of golems each more powerful than a would-be Demon Lord like Clayman. After the events of The Octagram Soars and The Majin Behind the Scenes respectively, both of these defense networks have been neutralized.

Notable Locations[]

Geofront[]

Geofront地底都市ジオフロント, jiofuronto is the main residential structure of Amrita, located on the top level of the undercity below the castle. It is home to the ancient dark elves and their descendants, as well as the castle's servants.[2]

Mausoleum[]

The Mausoleum was a structure that took up the bottom-most layer of Amrita’s undercity. It acted as a grand memorial, with various treasures of silver and gold decorating the center. It was completely destroyed after the events of "The Majin Behind the Scenes".

Despite being called a tomb, it did not look like such. It had the appearance of a giant expanse of grassland and was magically lit, giving the entire floor the illusion of being outside.[3]

Royal Castle[]

The Royal Castle is the most important facility on the surface. It acts not only as the primary office for Jistav’s government, but also as the traditional residence for its monarch. But above all, it also protects the entrance to the undercity, which can only be accessed through a magically sealed door in its basement.

Trivia[]

  • Both Amrita and its predecessor Soma are named after the drink and elixir of the gods from Hindu mythology, said to be the source of immortality.
